Long Term Lifestyle Changes (Creation of 30 Day Challenge).

I have been making some very positive changes in my life, like, thinking of my body in a more positive light (read about here), I am restricting when I use my electronics and when I am on social media, doing yoga a few times a week, and I am also slowly going to only start buying products that are curtly free (i.e. not tested on animals).

I am going to try and write a post on all of these at one time or another! However this blog post is going to focus on positive body image and the challenge I created.

What is a body image?
Body image is basically the mental image you have of your own body. This image is created by a number of things such as media, family, and cultural beliefs. When you look and the mirror and say “you’re fat” or “you’re too thin” is that true or is that what the world outside of you has lead you to believe? Now in my case I am thin, and I have always though I needed to put on weight, but not because I felt to thin or that I was unhealthy but because girls in the south are “thick”. My thinking that I need to put on more weight had more to do with the world around me and my perceived idea that I would be more beautiful with more weight. However, I should just be happy with who I am, thin, short, and sometimes underweight.

Why am I creating the challenge?
I have already taken small step throughout my day to be more positive about my body. I would like to do this process with some other people so I have decided that I am going to create a positive body image challenge.  It would be nice to see if others can benefit from the 30 day challenge.

How long will it be?
The Positive Body Image Challenge will be 30 days from start to finish.

Where can I participate?
I will have a Facebook group during the 30 days. After that I will have a Google + group were the full 30 days will be posted. For those who join the Facebook group there will be a prize for two of the people who make it through the full 30 days. I am still working out the prize, but that is why the Google + group will not go active until after the first 30 days because there is no prize in that group.

When does the challenge start?

This will be announced (so keep an eye out). I start two new classes and I need to see how my work load will be so I can be as active as possible with the group. On a good note I will get this information by Monday.
