Effects of Abuse
It broke my heart to write about and think about the people living with domestic violence, but it cannot and will not change if we do not talk about.  The effects of domestic violence is felt while it is happening and long after it is over, and in the worst cases domestic violence results in death. Before you let someone or you believe you can handle  what is happening look at what domestic violence does to a person. Know you are worth more!


Intimate Partner Violence
·         Depression
·         Suicidal thoughts
·         Anxiety
·         Negative Self-concept (includes low self-worth, low self-esteem)
·         PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
·         Sleep Disorders
·         Asthma
·         Chronic Pain Syndromes
·         Sexually Transmitted Infections (like HIV)
·         Preterm Delivery
·         Pregnancy Difficulties (like  low birth rate and perinatal death)
·         Homelessness
