Spring Blog Changes

There are some big changes coming to Single mom, What a Life! and cover reveal of Single Mom, What a Life! A Fill-in Journal for Single Mothers.

I know this post was supposed to go live yesterday.... But I am human and life happens. This post has been written for weeks but I never got to adding the pictures, because blogging is not as simple as write and post anymore. No you have branding (why?).

There are some big changes coming to Single mom, What a Life! I decided a while back to post four times a month and it is and is not working. I have done very good at posting 4 times a month (yes I am proud of myself), but I know realistically I cannot keep this up. If anything about my schedule it thrown off (like Noah and I being sick) the first thing that gets the ax is my blog. On top of this I am applying for a master’s program and that means I will have even less time for the blog. I have seen a major increase in views (mostly because I am putting in the work to promote the site) but also because I have been consistent about posting. To keep this up I want to cut the post down to twice a month. This is something that is not even kind of debatable and while I am sad about this I am also happy. I can spend more time on one post, I can also put more time into promoting the blog and my book.

On a personal note I will be adding a blog to this blog (I know you’re thinking WTF?). I have given up TV during the week so I have a small window to write and I am thinking I need to start writing more personal stuff so it is not sitting on my chest. Single Mom, What a Life! Is my baby but for the most part it is nothing personal. In my Shoes (NEW blog) is more for me than others but it will be up if anyone wants to take a look into my day to day, and my thoughts. I already have a few post up, and I can say that just the few day's I have taken to write have made me feel refreshed.

Lastly, I will be going into over drive so I can finish Singe Mom, What a Life! (the journal). That is right the name and cover have been chosen and I am so happy to be sharing it with you all.  I am also sharing a sneak peek of a few of the pages. I have worked really hard on this not just in terms of how it looks but making sure the cost of the book will be reasonable.

    1. Right and once upon a time I was trying to post twice a week... That was not working.

  2. Loved your post, as a single mom it would be very tough to blog more often. Wishing you the best.

  3. Sharp post and finding the time and desire to write is always a struggle. But four posts a month shouldn't be that hard to maintain. 500-700 words per entry plus pictures is very doable. With so many lifestyle blogs out here, you will have to work to maintain your readership with fresh content.

    1. I mean this in the nicest way, but you sound like you did not even read the post. I am starting grad school, a single mother, and I work full time.

  4. Awesome post... I can't even imagine how you do it. I panic the minute I hear that my husband is going on a business trip. This week I am acting as a single mom and not liking it at all..
